River Surfing is surfing on waves in rivers. The most common type of river surfing is on Standing Waves. Standing Waves do not change position. These waves are formed by the combination of fast moving water going over a drop or slope and the river bottom contours. The water goes down the slope or drop then comes back up to form the wave.

River Surfers face upstream and the surf boards ride on the face of the wave. To stay on the wave a River Surfer balances gravity pulling them down the face of the wave and the water pushing them downstream. The act of surfing on River Waves is very similar to surfing on Ocean Waves.

Backcountry Snowcats is a Cat Skiing and Snowboarding operation hidden in British Columbia’s South Chilcotin Mountains just to the north of Whistler. Located in the Hurley pass this Cat Skiing Operation is remote. The Hurley Pass is just north of Pembertonand only a 3.5 hour trip from Vancouver on Highway 99 to Pemberton. Your remote holiday begins with a guided snowmobile ride to access the lodge. The Hurley Mountain Lodge is a fully serviced private Lodge for groups of up to 10 guests.

With over 14,000 acres of epic terrain and a vertical drop of 3000 ft.  The average ski day consist of 12,000 vertical ft. of some of the most incredable terrain you have ever skied. The terrain encompasses many alpine bowls and gladed tree runs. Our North facing aspects keep the snow in great condition until April.The weather in the Hurley pass is colder and drier than nearby Whistler but it still manages to get all of the same storms that bring the deep powder.
